Male sex worker on bail for stealing taxi driver’s cellphone

CITY Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday ordered 17-year-old male sex worker Nicholas Kissoon of Lot 124 Laing Avenue, Georgetown to post bail when he appeared before her charged for stealing a $100,000 HTC cellular phone from a taxi driver. The student of Carnegie School of Home Economics denied stealing the phone of Ashton Adams in June, 2015 at West Ruimveldt, but the court heard that on the day in question, at about 02:00 hrs, Kissoon hired Adams to take him to Herstelling. En route, he told the taxi driver that he had changed his mind and wanted to be taken to Laing Avenue.

While they were on the West Ruimveldt Front Road, Kissoon snatched the taxi driver’s phone and plunged through a dark alleyway to make good his escape. The matter was reported to the police, and the well-known aberrant was arrested, positively identified and subsequently charged.

Kissoon was released on bail to return to court on September 03 for statements. (Clestine Juan)
