THE police yesterday reported that 30-year-old Sancarlos Sukhu, 30, of Kara Kara, Linden was on Wednesday night shot in the right ankle and shoulder on the Eccles Public Road, East Bank Demerara.

The incident reportedly occurred around 18:30hrs when the vehicle in which Sukhu was travelling stopped at the traffic light.
According to the police, the man was in a car driven by Hai San Wong, also of Kara Kara, Linden, when a man approached them at the traffic light with a firearm, held them up and demanded cash.
A sum of money was handed over, but the robber demanded more; and when that was not forthcoming, he opened fire, hitting Sukhu, after which he escaped. The injured man was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was admitted.
Up to late yesterday the police were looking to come up with clues and eyewitnesses who may be able to lead them to the suspects.
