Lewis and Christiani top Referee Beginners course

RONECIA Lewis of Linden and Robert Christiani of West Demerara were the top performers at the May 23-25 Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Referee Beginners course, which was held at their Campbellville headquarters. 27 persons (16 females, 11 males participated and had a pass rate of 95% in the written examination.

Lewis had an overall 80% while Christiani chalked up 84%.
“Those persons who indicated their interest in becoming a referee will have another chance when the GFF holds another Beginners Course in July,” the GFF said in a release.
The GFF thanks all of the participants and noted that the intense training will continue on a weekly basis at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue in Georgetown, Wisburg Secondary School in Linden and in Berbice at No.5 Community Ground, 17:00hrs daily.
According to the GFF, the courses are part of its continued development plans for football with training sessions for coaches, referees and players.
