Legends hosting Sir Garry’s painting

The huge painting bearing the likeness of cricket’s greatest all-rounder has finally been delivered, as the five-by-five-foot piece was unveiled last Friday in the Sir Garfield Sobers wing of the Cricket Legends Of Barbados museum.It was treated as one grand festive occasion, with fellow legends Sir Wes Hall, Charlie Griffith, Cammie Smith, Vasbert Drakes and Cricket Legends chairman Desmond Haynes joining the National Hero to witness the unveiling of Sir Garry On The Green.
The painting, done with palette knives instead brushes, was originally supposed to be delivered two weeks ago after Sir Garry decided to present the Legends the piece, which was initially donated to him by Sir Martyn and Lady Arbib. (Extracted from NationNews)
