DOMINICUS Supratikto, non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Guyana, on Thursday presented a quantity of pencil cases to Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo for distribution as tokens to mark the 50th Anniversary of Guyana’s Independence.The Boxes are branded with the Logo of the Golden Jubilee and the profile of Jakarta and Georgetown, the capital of Indonesia and Guyana respectively. The backdrop is the flag of Guyana.

Ambassador Supratikto, who is based in Paramaribo, responded to an earlier invitation by the Guyanese Prime Minister for Indonesia to identify with the celebration of the 50th Independence Anniversary of Guyana. In brief remarks, the ambassador said that the decorated boxes represent the continuing friendly relations between his country and Guyana. Both of our countries, he added, celebrate ethnic and cultural diversity.

Prime Minister Nagamootoo expressed gratitude for the symbolic gifts, and re-affirmed the good relations between our countries. (OPM)
