– Fraser, Morian, Boyer take wins

THERE were wins for Cindy Fraser, Quacy Morian, and Shion Boyer, , , on the second day of competition in the Guyana Police Force Inter-Division Championships, as Headquarters(HQ) continued to maintain the lead and A Division has a steady hold on second place.With 187 points HQ has a healthy lead ahead of the 147 points that A Division holds after the completion of the swimming competition and six finals in the athletic competition of the Championships.
After yesterday’s six finals, C Division has third with 76 points and B Division on 29 points.

Guyana’s Quacy Morian won the international men’s “A” Class 800m in a time of 2:07.7s. The race saw Guyana taking a clean sweep of the wins with Trevor Scotland in second (2:10.5s) and Larry Jossiah in third (2:12.11s).

Yesterday’s finals included the women’s 3000m which was won by A Division’s Shion Boyer, clocking 13:31.0s. HQ’s Eva Henry who took away a number medals in the swimming competition, proved she can more than just swim, taking second place behind Boyer in a time of 14:49.4s.

HQ ruled in the men’s “B” Class discus where they took a clean sweep of all the podium positions with Spellen taking the win with a 36.35m best throw, and Warren Duncan taking second with 33.68m. Third place went to Sherwin Henry 928.99m).

In the international men’s “A” Class discus throw Guyana’s Julio Sinclair championed the event after clearing a distance of 38.39m. Trinidad’s Clinton Glasgow was second (33.39m) and Guyana’s Marvin Tinnis was third (25.03m).

Trinidad’s Jocelyn Huggins won the women’s discus throw (32.28m), and the women’s long jump went to A Division’s Cindy Fraser who covered 5.38m.
