DALE Browne, the husband of 27-year-old Chinelle Browne who went missing in Brooklyn, USA over the last weekend, is to make a trip to the United States to identify the body of his wife.

Mr. Browne told this publication that he is leaving for the United States soon, and he is thankful for the work of the United States Embassy here in Guyana in making his trip possible.

Chinelle had migrated to the United States last year May. She had returned to Guyana in April this year to spend two weeks, and had returned to, and was resident in, the USA until she went missing on that fateful Saturday. Her New York address had been 346 Sumter Street, Brooklyn.

The Brownes have four children: three–year-old twins Ariel and Michaela; five-year-old Jonathan, and seven-year-old Gabrielle Browne, all resident in Guyana with their father.

The Long Island and New York City police are investigating whether human remains found in Bay Shore and Hempstead are those of Mrs. Chinelle Browne, who recently went missing in Brooklyn, according to sources.

On Wednesday, a severed arm was found on the front lawn of a home in Hempstead, and a source said authorities were trying to determine if it was related to a female body found on Tuesday in Suffolk.

Hempstead police blocked off part of Webb Avenue, near Washington Avenue, with yellow crime scene tape on Wednesday afternoon.

The Suffolk County police homicide commander, Det. Lt. Kevin Beyrer, was also seen at the Webb Avenue home. The Nassau County police homicide squad and police canines were also on the scene.

Jose Diaz, 56, a deli owner who, since 1989, has lived at the home where the arm was found, said his wife’s brother, Noel Rivera, discovered what appeared to be a human arm in their front yard at about 2 pm on Wednesday and called 911.

Chinelle’s family here in Guyana are hoping and praying that the body is not that of Chinelle’s, even though police have confirmed that a tattoo that Chinelle is alleged to have on her legs matches the tattoo on the torso found in police custody. Family members have said they are keeping the faith.
