It is believed that Kevin absconded to Guyana after he committed the gruesome acts.

On May 24 last, the bodies of Sookhoo, 37, and her 10-year-old daughter were found in a house in Paramaribo, Suriname. A report out of Suriname stated that they were suspected to have been slain by a 22-year-old man who is now wanted by police. According to the report, a neighbour, Stacy Harris, said Sookhoo and her daughter, along with the man, had visited her home the day before their bodies were discovered, but nothing seemed to be amiss.

The man reportedly moved to the area three months ago, while Sookhoo and her daughter moved into the same house about a month ago.

According to the neighbour, the killing may have stemmed from jealousy, since the suspect was upset that Sookhoo’s ex-husband had visited her recently.

Reports further disclosed that Sookhoo, formerly of Sparta, Essequibo Coast, Guyana, was a mother of five. The mother and daughter were found strangled at their Nieuw Amsterdam apartment, a village in District Commewijne, Suriname.

The Surinamese lawmen were directed to the building after the employer of the woman’s boyfriend reported that he failed to turn up for work. The police said it appeared that a rope had been used to strangle the females.

Relatives of Sookhoo disclosed that she had been living in Suriname for several years, and had been partnering with a boyfriend in a fishing business.
