THE Guyanese players at the CAREBACO (Caribbean Regional Badminton Confederation) snapped up bronze medals when the tournament wrapped up in the Dominican Republic last weekend. The team won five bronze medals in the Individual Championships in what was clearly the smallest team at the event, a mere 4 persons compared to others who had 25-30 persons.

President of the Guyana Badminton Association Gokarn Ramdhani said, “With this ratio I am very much pleased with the performance of the Guyana Team that stood up to the pressure of the tournament and was able to reach the Quarters & Semi-Finals”
He continued, “Some of our local players also because of the postponement of the tournament of the storm that hit DR had to play Quarters and Semis in the same day amounting to 6 matches and 12 games each.”
The 7 countries that took part in the Championships are: Dominican Republic, Barbados, Panama, Trinidad, Jamaica, Puerto Rico & Guyana.
