Guyana will be tough test for SVG, says Sandy

GOALKEEPER on the St Vincent and the Grenadines football team Dwayne Sandy expects difficult matches against Guyana in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers, and believes the team will have to be pragmatic in order to get to Round 3.St Vincent and Guyana both made it to the third round of the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers, but only one will progress this time around.
“Guyana have improved in their football, they have English-based players in their squad now so they have a professional vibe in their team so it is not going to be easy. It is a huge test and we are going to have to be physically and mentally prepared for June,” he said.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper, who was the NLA Premier League Goalkeeper-of-the-Year in the 2010–11 season, says in order to beat Guyana the team will have to compete physically.
“Guyana have physically imposing players so we have to be direct to compete with them, if we can get a good result at home, I am confident we will be in Round 3.” (Sportsmax)
