THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) wrapped up its ‘A’ Division summer football camp yesterday with an exhibition match at the Police Sports Club ground. A number of youths, drawn from areas within the jurisdiction of the ‘A’ Division were part of the month-long programme under the guidance of former National player Earl O’Neil.
Upon its completion, certificates were handed out after which, an exhibition game was played where the U-15 team defeated the U-17s, 2-1.
A-Division Commander Clifton Hicken said that the idea of the camp was not only to help develop the players, whom he wishes will get a break to represent Guyana in future, but also to foster a better relationship between the police and the community.
