TEAM Guyana finished third at the CAREBACO (Caribbean Regional Badminton Confederation) Under-19 Team Championships which concluded on Wednesday in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, at the Club Los Prados.The Guyanese Team defeated Puerto Rico 3-1.
In the Boys Singles Jonathan Mangra defeated Luis Perex 21-9, 21-12 before Priyanna Ramdhani lost to Genesis Valentin 21-17, 21-14 in the Girls singles.
However, in the Boys Doubles, Narayan Ramdhani & Jonathan Mangra defeated Luis Perex and Joshua Soler 21-17, 21-13 before the Mixed doubles siblings of Narayan and Priyanna brought the title home, disposing of Joshua Soler & Genesis Valentin 21-10, 23-21, 21-12
The other countries were the hosts Dominican Republic, Barbados, Panama, Trinidad, Jamaica, Puerto Rico & Guyana.
With the Team Championship concluded, the players will now prepare for the CAREBACO Individual Championship which starts today at the Under-15, Under-17 & Under-19 divisions featuring Girls Singles, Boys Singles, Girls Doubles, Boys Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
