GTT Rugby10’s UG Wolves blow out Police; Army beat Pepsi Hornets

THE wet conditions at the National Park Rugby ground certainly was no help for the young Guyana Police Force squad as they were thrashed by UG Wolves in the GTT/GRFU Tens Tournament last Saturday.The Wolves inflicted a 65– 0 beating on the Police team, making it the biggest score line of defeat to date in the tournament.
The assault on the inexperienced police squad started as early as the fifth minute of the game with Osei McKenzie’s three tries followed by Lance Adonis’s two tries and conversions
Delroy Fordyce with two tries supported by Godfrey Brooms with one try and three conversions along with Rondel Mc Author and Malcom Rhonda who contributed a try each, rounded off the point table for the UG Wolves.
UG scored 36 points in the first quarter followed by 29 in the last quarter of the game.
In the other Game of the day the Army extended their winning streak to three from three games, defeating Pepsi Hornets 32-10.
Speedster Patrick King was the danger man once again for his club scoring four tries while support came from Avery Corbin with two tries as well as Dwayne Schroder who scored a conversation. The Pepsi Hornets score came from Troy Bascom.
Action in the GTT/GRFU tens Rugby Tournament will continue on Saturday, November 28, at the National Park ground with two more games; President vs. Vice President Ladies followed by Yamaha Caribs vs. UG Wolves
The various Teams are competing for Trophies and Medals, compliments of GT&T.
Teams in the tournament are Guyana Defense Force, Pepsi Hornets, UG Wolves, Yamaha Caribs and the Guyana Police Force.
The two female teams will be President vs. Vice President select.
