THE Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) yesterday donated 1.5Mbps dedicated Internet service valued some $4.6 million annually to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).   The service will be utilised solely in the hospital’s training room, an area that was set up for doctors and nurses to benefit from lectures via video-conferences.
Speaking at a simple donation ceremony, acting GPHC Chief Executive Officer Allan Johnson expressed gratitude to GTT for the kind gesture.
GTT Public Relations Officer Allison Parker said the company is pleased to make the contribution to the GPHC. The gesture is part of GTT’s recent “Do more” drive and includes plans to further collaborate with the hospital.
