ANOTHER action-packed night of Futsal football unravels tonight in the Petra-organised GT Beer Tournament currently being contested at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).

With a 19:00hrs scheduled start to the final round of preliminary matches, West Back Road will take on Beterverwagting (BV) in a Group D encounter. Following the curtain-raiser Sophia battle Broad Street at 19:45hrs in the penultimate Group C match.
West Front Road then have the chance to further solidify a spot in the next round when they play the final Group C encounter against Show Stoppers.
Wrapping up the night will be Bent Street taking on North Ruimveldt from 21:45hrs in the final prelim showdown.
Going into tonight’s proceedings, West Front Road and Sophia lead the Group with four points while Sophia are third on three points and Broad Street’s chances of advancing are no more since they did not accumulate a point from two matches.
In Group D, West Back Road are on top with six points while Bent Street and North Ruimveldt are deadlocked on three points but Bent Street have a superior goal difference, BV found it tough since the start of the competition and lost the opportunity to proceed after their second consecutive loss.
All Group A and B teams have completed their quota of matches. Festival City and Kitty Weavers have progressed to the quarterfinal round after finishing on top of Group A while Agricola and Queen Street-Tiger Bay have exited the competition.
In Group B, Sparta Boss remained unbeaten to acquire maximum points ahead of Albouystown who came in second. Alexander Village and Globe Yard were eliminated for finishing at the bottom of the Group.
The winners of the inaugural event will pocket $500 000 and trophy, while the second-, third- and fourth-place finishers will collect $250 000, $125 000 and $75 000, respectively.
