GPHC service delivery to be improved

THE provision of quality health care is expected to be significantly improved at the country’s main referral hospital, the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), as $262.2 million was allocated to the institution for capital works.The works include construction of the maternity ward, the operating theatre and works at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Under these projects, invitation for bids is currently being advertised for the supply and installation of fuel meters, surgical lighting systems, retractable ceiling columns, a water- purification system for the renal centre, setting up of CCTV systems, and the supply of 450 KVA auto transformers, infusion pumps, laboratory refrigerators and scrub sinks.
Bids are to be submitted to the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board, Ministry of Finance, by October 13.
