Goodluck wins GNRA recorded fullbore Shoot Championship

REIGNING Senior National rifle-shooting champion Ransford Goodluck has struck form ahead of the National championships with victory in last Sunday’s recorded fullbore Shoot at the Timehri Rifle and Pistol ranges.

In ideal conditions for shooting with switching left to right winds and brilliant sunshine, Goodluck was bang on target shooting possibles at the 300, 500 and 900 yards ranges to finish the day with an overall aggregate of 135 points with 15 V-bulls.
He shot 50.3 at 300 yards, 50.7 at 500 yards and 35.5 at 900 yards. National captain Mahendra Persaud was second with 132 points with nine V-bulls, shooting 49.6 at 300 yards, 50.2 at 500 yards and 33.1 at 900 yards.
Caribbean champion Lennox Braithwaite finished third with 130 with 10 V-bulls, recording 47.5 at 300 yards, 50.4 at 500 and 33.1 at 900 yards to beat into fourth position Leo Romalho who shot 44.4 at 300, 50.6 at 500 and 34.3 at 900 for a final aggregate of 128.13.
Sherwin Felicien settled for fifth place (44.3, 47.3 and 27.0 – 118.6) while Inspector Dane Blair placed sixth (39.2, 48.4 and 29.0 – 116.6).
Other shooters included Richard and Dylan Fields, Peter Persaud and Colin Loncke, who also took the opportunity to zero their rifles for the National Senior and Junior Championships billed for November 2, 8 and 9 at Timehri.
Meanwhile, there will be another recorded shoot this Sunday at the 300, 600 and 900 yards ranges starting at 10:00hrs.
