THE Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA), in collaboration with the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI), recently launched the GBTI Independence Jubilee Open tournament scheduled to get underway on Friday at the GBTI tennis courts in Bel Air.According to a release from the GLTA, this will be the largest tournament in terms of participants, spectator-turnout, prize money and players.
With this in mind, the members of the GLTA executive met with GBTI to discuss the tournament being taken to the next level, since the tournament has coincided with the celebration of Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary and has thus been branded GBTI Independence Jubilee Open. It is anticipated to be the biggest tournament with a difference.
GBTI expressed once again pleasure to be sponsoring this annual tennis tournament. The Bank has noted, over the years, a constant rise in the quality of tennis and is proud to be associated with the Guyana Lawn Tennis Association in this regard. More so, the tournament has taken a timely spin by being dubbed, “THE GBTI INDEPENDENCE JUBILEE OPEN 2016”. Everyone is being urged to support the Guyana Tennis Association by making every effort to attend the matches.
