THE former best friend of Lloyda Thomas, 20, who was fatally stabbed at Versailles, West Bank Demerara last Saturday night during an outing with friends and her one-year-old daughter, is expected to appear in court today.Angelique Williams, who had shared an apartment with Thomas, is accused of using a broken bottle to stab her friend multiple times to the head and abdomen during a heated row after the group

had left the Aracari Resort where they had been imbibing.

The suspect who was in police custody up to press time was said to be very uncooperative with investigators, stating that she cannot remember what happened since she was drunk.

Thomas, who is said to have been two months pregnant with her second child, was stabbed repeatedly and left for dead while in company of a group of friends, who reportedly witnessed the murder.

Police reported that at about 22:30 hrs on May 21, 2015, at Versailles, West Bank Demerara, Thomas was involved in an argument with another female during which she was stabbed to her abdomen and head with a broken bottle.

She was pronounced dead on arrival at the WDRH.
The suspect was arrested and taken into police custody to assist with the investigations.

Lloyda Thomas, an aspiring model and trendsetter, was stabbed at least 10 times.
Since the homicide there has been much speculation as to what led the suspect to take her best friend’s life in such a brutal manner and in the presence of so many people. Some persons have said it may been envy, jealousy and rage while others felt it was much more than that.

Persons took to their Facebook account to express themselves following the murder of Thomas, who was described as a friendly, well loved individual who was very kind.
