GFF/FIFA Referees/Assistants Programme starts tomorrow

THE annual Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/FIFA Referees/Assistants Programme (RAP) will commence tomorrow at the National Resource Centre. During the five-day programme, there will be 20 national Elite and Assistant Referees, with 10 from each team.
Commencing with Referees Fitness test at the National Track and Field Facility, Leonora at 06:00hrs, the programme will then open formally at the National Resource Centre at 13:00hrs.
The daily sessions are scheduled to conclude at 17:00hrs with field sessions fixed for the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue on Friday and Saturday at 15:00hrs – 17:00hrs and Sunday at 06:00hrs – 08:00hrs.
One of the areas to be addressed during the RAP is the revised FIFA Laws of the Game and their respective interpretations.
The sessions will be facilitated by Peter Prendergast, FIFA Regional Development Officer/Technical Instructor and FIFA Fitness Instructor, Allan Morgan Browne.
Also present will be Head of the GFF’s Referees Department, Stanley Lancaster, as well as Roy McArthur and Ingraham Johnson who are Local Technical Instructors and Lindley Langhorne, Physical Fitness Instructor.
The RAP is a capacity-building programme which seeks to create uniformity among elite referees and to enable theme to meet the demands of the game.
