Get on first-name basis –with Coca-Cola

COCA-Cola invites everyone to share moments of happiness with a campaign that uses the power of names to inspire people to enjoy together.Coca-Cola is swapping its iconic logo on 20-oz. bottles for the 170 most popular first names among Guyanese.
‘Share a Coke’ was first launched in Australia, and has since rolled out in more than 50 countries. It invites fans to find their names, and the names of family members, friends, co-workers and people they’d like to get to know a little better.
“This year, we have changed our name for the most common names in Guyana so that people can share a Coke with friends, family or someone special,” says Coca-Cola Brand Manager, Jennifer Khan.
“Through this proposal, she says, “we want to invite everyone to rediscover the meaning of connecting and sharing.”
Khan says she is excited by this new promotional campaign, as Guyanese join the world in sharing this experience.
‘Share a Coke’ packaging will roll out nationwide, and will be brought to life Online, outdoors, on TV and Radio. Fans can also visit Facebook.com/coca-cola to personalise virtual bottles and share them with friends, she said.
Coca-Cola will amplify and curate the #ShareaCoke conversation via its social channels.
‘Share a Coke’ is designed to get people talking and sharing.
The campaign puts a modern, youthful twist on the brand’s 128-year legacy of bringing people together, and making them feel special.
