THE Guyana Defence Force (GDF) is said to be undertaking an internal investigation into rape allegations against two soldiers by a 17-year-old of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo. The two soldiers who are also from Tuschen are accused of raping the teen in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

According to reports, the teen is known to the two men and they were at a birthday party in Tuschen. After the party ended in the wee hours of Sunday morning, the girl was reportedly taken to one of the soldier’s homes in the same village where they took turns in raping her.

She was allegedly beaten about the face and other parts of the body after putting up a resistance.
