IT must have come as quite a surprise to some that first-timer Shauna Ramdyhan was eventually declared the new Miss Guyana Universe.She may have been a ‘first-timer’, but she certainly packed a wallop to cart of the ‘Miss Body Beautiful’ award as well.
In the second spot was 23-year-old Diana Ahmad, while 18-year-old Tricia Quail was awarded the third spot. In fourth place was London-based Zena Bland.
Najuma Nelson took home the prize for ‘Best Smile’, while Malika Russell was named ‘Miss Congeniality’.
In a little ‘chit-chat’ with the delegates recently, Shauna affirmed that her limited experience in pageantry will in no way narrow her chances at making us proud, since she is a woman of high standards, who is always ready to rise to new challenges. And she is certainly bent on giving of her best to make a name for Guyana at the Miss Universe Pageant.
At present, she is in training in areas of etiquette, poise and making her personal fitness a priority as she readies for a platform that may be a bit intimidating.
But with her flawless features, intelligence and vivid determination, she will certainly be a force to be reckoned with when she arrives in Las Vegas to compete with other beauties from around the globe.
