Entire Sophia community to benefit from new dental clinic at ‘B’ Field

The Rotary Club of Georgetown Central in collaboration with the Cheddi Jagan Dental School and United Insurance Company Ltd, yesterday, commissioned a newly completed Dental Clinic at the Community Centre, ‘B’ Field, Sophia.

Speaking to the Guyana Chronicle, yesterday, Vice- Chairman of the Pattensen Community Development Council, Colin Marks, noted that the extension to the community centre is a project funded by the United Insurance Company, while the Rotary Club of Georgetown was the backbone of the project.
He further stated that he partnered with the community partnership council to manage the construction of the complex. He explained that the dental services will not be offered on a daily basis but will be scheduled for different days by a team from the Cheddi Jagan Dental School.alt
However, these days have not yet been finalised but the service will target the entire Sophia community.
Meanwhile, the Guyana Chronicle spoke with a few residents, to althave their views about the new dental service which is being offered.
They all expressed appreciation for this development which means that they would not have to travel all the way into Georgetown to receive such a service, noting that it’s great to have health services available in the community.
