COURTS Pee Wee schools football competition kicks off today

TWELVE action-packed matches will unravel from today when the fourth annual COURTS Pee Wee Under-11 Schools Football Competition gets under way at the Banks DIH ground, Thirst Park, from 10:00hrs.The Petra-organised event will see 24 primary school teams from Georgetown, including the defending champions Stella Maris, collide in the most anticipated grassroots level tournament.
Matches will be contested simultaneously throughout the tournament. In the first two matches scheduled for 10:00hrs, St Sidwell’s will take on last year’s runners-up St Pius and Marian Academy will oppose Smith Memorial.
The second set of matches will see Enterprise take on Winfer Gardens and Comenius challenge St Ambrose. F.E. Pollard tackle St Agnes then School of the Nations meet Sophia, both from 11:30hrs.
At the halfway mark of the day’s activities North Georgetown battle with Rama Krishna while South Ruimveldt engage J.E. Burnham from 12:15hrs. From 13:00hrs St Stephen’s meet West Ruimveldt and St Gabriel’s take on the defending champions.
At 13:45hrs St Angela’s go head-to-head with Tucville while East La Penitence battle St Margaret’s.
The organising team Petra and sponsors COURTS Guyana Inc. and Banks DIH, urge football fans to come out and support the future of Guyana’s football.
