SCORES of excited faces entered the courts Linden Branch as the Spin the Wheel promotion took centre stage in the town yesterday. Eligible customers were given the chance to win luxurious prizes, and even up to 100% off of their purchases.Hosting the programme was popular DJ Akelo Elliot, who did an excellent job at uplifting the atmosphere with his electrifying chants. Pandemonium reigned as persons won 100% off of their purchases, and this encouraged them to make another purchase so as to be eligible for another chance at spinning the wheel.

The wheel provided opportunity to win prizes such as Sumsung Galaxy smart phones, digital cameras, LED flat screen television sets, electric irons, cutlery sets, culinary sets, and further percentages off of purchases.
As the news permeated the town, persons took the opportunity to make last minute purchases so as to become eligible to enter the promotion. Everyone waited in anticipation, even though it took hours to spin the wheel; and they made it clear that they were hoping to gain 100% off of their purchases.

Out of approximately 200 customers, about 25 were lucky enough to perfect their spin in fulfilling that desire. Michelle Cameron, a nurse at the Mackenzie Hospital, was elated at winning 100% off of her purchase after she had spun the wheel. She even took the opportunity — like others — to make another purchase, which won her a flat screen television and 5% off of a wardrobe after she became entitled to two spins.

“I am so happy! God is good!” were the only comprehensible words that made it out of her intense excitement. Carol Braithwaite, a retired teacher, was asked by the host to spin the wheel using the power she used to use to spank him in primary school. She was happy to have received a Sumsung Galexy smart phone, even though she had hoped to win 100% off her purchase, like everyone else.

The Spin the Wheel promotion ended at 5pm, and persons who met the eligibility criteria were given coupons which would afford them a chance to spin the at the grand “Win Millions” promotion at the main office in Georgetown.

Courts’ Annual Christmas Light-up
It was not coincidental that Courts’ Linden Branch also hosted a light-up and talent show for the children of Linden on the same day. Despite the inclement weather, hundreds of parents and guardians brought their children out to participate in this grand activity. Many persons waited eagerly to be entertained by local talents such as Yoland Nedd, who wowed the crowd with some popular reggae vocals.
Also participating was this year’s winners of the Courts talented competition, who performed “Have yourself a merry little Christmas” for their young audience.

There were numerous attractions for the children, among which were Dora, Spiderman, Santa and Mrs. Clause, Tinkerbell, and Minnie and Mickie Mouse among others. The loud screams and joyous chants from the children was assurance enough that they enjoyed the event and the entertainment given by host DJ Akelo Elliot.

Some children were afforded gifts, but gift-sharing had been made a priority at the School for Special Needs Children earlier in the day. Branch Manager Lorris McLean expressed his satisfaction at the success of the two events, and said he looks forward to a bigger and better one next year.
