Controversial issues should be handled by committees headed by political leaders

PERHAPS, Parliament should divide the controversial issues of corruption, marginalisation and fiscal responsibility to committees headed by leaders of the three parliamentary parties. The PPP/C could make the issue of corruption their issue. On the other hand the APNU should do the same with the question of marginalization. The AFC would be left to deal with fiscal responsibility and accountability. In a short period of time, Guyanese could evaluate how well these three parties are doing in improving the situation within their assigned areas.
The ultimate question for intelligent voters is not “who” is on top, but “who” is on top and has viable plans to address the real issues facing Guyana like – jobs, security, education, healthcare, infrastructure, development and equal opportunity. As the old people say – when the boat is sinking, boat crew and passengers all bail water.
