THE Continental Group of Companies under its Sunburst brand, yesterday rekindled its partnership with the Camptown Football Club.Speaking at a ceremony yesterday, the paint manufacturer and Sunburst Beverage Distributor’s Company Ssecretary Percival Boyce JR said it is his pleasure and that of the company’s Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Puri and management and staff to once again rise to the occasion in support of the Sunburst Camptown Football Club, in their (Continental) efforts, not only to maintain their sponsorship role as a leading corporate citizen, but in giving back to the community “with the focus on the preparation and maintenance of Sunburst Camptown’s players, and by extension, their coach and executive members of the club”.

The Continental Group of Companies handed over a number of practice and match balls, as well as boots, hoses, training cones, playing uniforms, water bottles and Sunburst beverages to the club’s president Attorney-at-Law James Bond.
Boyce went on to say it would be remiss of him not to make special mention of the support from Ralph Green, president of Camptown Football Club in New York (USA), who, according to Boyce, was instrumental in sourcing the outfits and equipment and air-freighting them on behalf of the sponsor.
Boyce said he was given the assurance by the club’s coach Joseph `Bill’ Wilson, that the club, having sounded the horn in their first fixture of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA)/Banks Beer Knock-out tournament, ‘Sunburst Camptown stands in readiness to defend their 2012 position”.
Sunburst Camptown who are the defending champions of the GFA/Banks Beer tournament won their first match of this year’s tournament, defeating Essequibo by a 10-0 margin.
In thanking Boyce for his tireless efforts in convincing the Continental Group of Companies CEO and other top management, Camptown president James Bond explained that Camptown and Continental share a relationship which lasted for years, but because of circumstances, the Continental Group withdrew their sponsorship for some time.
Bond said after meeting with Boyce and other members of the management, certain issues were thrashed out and they (Camptown) know what the company desires of them and the company is aware of what the club wants.
“We are happy to be on board and we will wear our uniforms proudly and display the Sunburst brand proudly.
