BVA/Fyrish VC team up to stage one day tournament today

The Berbice Volleyball (VBA) Association and the Fyrish Volleyball Club of Berbice has teamed up st stage a one day tournament for both male and female clubs in the Ancient County beginning at 09:00hrs at the Fyrish Volleyball Court, Corentyne, Berbice.According to a release, the BVA in its efforts to take the sport to higher heioghts in 2016, will be staging a number of volleyball tournaments, seminars/workshops and outreach programmes.
In that light, it is continuing its busy schedule with the staging of a one day open tournament for both males and females teams today at the Fyrish volleyball court.
The tournament is expected to attract the top teams in Berbice. Among them are Port Mourant Training Centre, one, two and three, Three Door Strikers, Port Mourant Jaguars, Albion United, No 53 Survival, Tain Humanitarian, Corriverton Jets and host Fyrish.
Two female teams have also been entered for the competition namely Black Birds Volleyball Club and Corriverton females.
The tournament is all part of the BVA’s push to spread the game to all parts of the county.
Teams are asked to turn up with their uniforms and balls if possible.
Prizes, trophies and other memorabilia’s are up for grabs and will be presented to the top winning and runner up teams and outstanding individual players including the best setter, best spiker, most discipline team and the team in the best uniform.
The day’s competition will be played in three parts -Senior, females and junior.
