Break and enter accused on $200,000 bail

A THIRTY-YEAR-OLD labourer of 94 North Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was ordered to post $200,000 bail on a break and enter and larceny charge yesterday.Before Magistrate Ann McLennan, the defendant, Raul Hinds, pleaded not guilty to the charge, that said between April 13 and 14, at North Sophia, he broke and entered the storeroom of Andrew Chand and stole one electrical power saw, one sanding machine and one electrical drill, together valued $175,000.
Police Corporal Dinero Jones, prosecuting, said the facts are as charged and did not object to the pre-trial liberty of the defendant.
The unrepresented defendant will make his next court appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on May 23.
