The defending champion of the Digicel Duck Curry Competition, Bombay Masala was adjudged the winner of the competition when it was held at the Number 63 Beach on Sunday last.The competition which saw more than 20 teams cooking up a storm, ended with the Bombay Masala team successfully retaining the title and more importantly, the first prize of $250,000 and a hamper.
Coming in the second spot was Calypso Hut of Kildonan Village, Corentyne which walked away with $150,000, while Ashmin’s Auto Sales secured the third spot and received $100,000. Deojaj Jaikisson and Devish Beopt tied for fourth position and collected $75,000 each.
Apart from the top five, all other participants were presented with a hamper and a bottle of Guy Gas.
After the judging, it was time to party with performances by Trinidadian Adesh Samaroo and Sally Sagram.
