THE POLICE are continuing to investigate the matter where twenty – one – year old Rayshan “Cookie” Cook of Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara was on Sunday night killed after his motorcycle CE 4340 reportedly collided with two motor cars on the public road at Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara.

In the accident which occurred at about 20:40 hrs, Cook received several broken bones and his bloodied body was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

An eyewitness told the Chronicle that Cook was at the same party where he was and while everyone was enjoying themselves, his clique was right next to Cook’s group of friends.
The eyewitness said that he recalled Cook telling his friends that he cannot drink any alcohol because he was riding.

“I don’t think this dude was drunk because he wasn’t drinking at the party, he was sipping on a XL Energy drink – that’s all I could have recalled seeing, even when the accident occurred I was right behind him, he even had on his helmet, I don’t really know how this happened,” the eyewitness said.

Another eyewitness on the scene said that the car that was in front of Cook didn’t signal that it was turning into Anna Catherina.

“The car didn’t have on its trafficator showing that it was turning and the boy was riding at a reasonable rate before colliding with the car and then slammed into another maybe because of the speed,” the eyewitness said.

His sister who wants to remain anonymous told the Chronicle that her brother (Cook) left home and was going out. He then told her that he would be back soon. She said that when she got the call saying that he was dead she could not have believed because he was always a careful and cautious driver.

“I wonder when I see his body in the coffin and going down in the grave; I really want to know where he will be going. Return if possible but I know that will not happen; he will always be in my dreams. You are here today but then tomorrow you gone, he will be missed by everyone for all the good things he did and that smile he always has on his face,” his sister said emotionally.
