“I am proud of this Government and this party is running on its track record with the distribution of 100,000 house lots. Over 1000 schools have been built. Don’t you think they (PPP/C) deserve another 5 years in Government,” he asked the hyped-up supporters who responded with a resounding ‘yes’.

Anamayah noted that the PPP/C have great teachers and have made sure that the party always delivers what they promise. “We have great teachers; Dr. (Cheddi) Jagan, Janet Jagan and Dr. (Bharrat) Jagdeo; the Opposition cannot match our line of leaders… and come May 11, put the ‘X’ by the cup, the cup that cannot run empty and the cup that deliver all promises,” Anamayah urged.

Dr. Grason Hally, another of the featured speakers at the PPP/C Albion Rally, said to the supporters, “I can see that you all are ready and prepared to vote PPP/C.”

He however, urged that you all should make sure the PPP/C word is spread all over this country and we can bring about progress and prosperity.”

Hally related his personal experiences of achieving his dream of becoming a doctor.
“Without the PPP/C, I could not have been a doctor, without them I could not have realised my dream,” he proudly declared.

“Today, our young people, our sons and daughters, we can tell them that you can be a doctor if you want because the PPP/C provide that for you; you can be anything you want to be. The PPP/C will take care of you,” he said.

Dr Hally also called on the PPP/C supporters to tell the Opposition (APNU/AFC) coalition to “move aside….just give them the hand and tell them move aside…you’re not interested; tell them you’re voting PPP/C come May 11.”

The Medical Superintendent at the New Amsterdam Hospital, Dr Vishalya Sharma, who is also featured on the PPP/C List of Candidates for the 2015 Regional and General Elections, told the gathering, “I bring to you the message of progress, and the message of continued development under the PPP/C.”

Alluding to the transformation of Guyana for the better since 1992, Dr Sharma also noted that women, in particular, have benefitted in this transformation. “We have more female doctors in the system now under the PPP/C,” Dr Sharma declared.

She, like her previous colleagues, spoke about the numerous developments in the country and specifically highlighted that “I have heard of the criticisms when it comes to the Berbice Bridge… but it has transformed Berbice, it has created new opportunities for this community. Come May 11, vote confidently. Place your ‘X’ next to the cup,” Dr Sharma told the crowd.
The nephew of the Late Dr. Cheddi Jagan, Dr. Clive Jagan also took to the podium, telling supporters that the PPP/C has not moved away from the teaching and vision of the Late Dr. Jagan. “Do not be fooled comrades,” Clive told the rally.

“To see this outpouring of support, it is with humility and joy I speak today. I graduated in 1977 and returned home and be a part of the party since 1978,” he said. He explained that for many years he worked along with his uncle (Cheddi). “I will stop to speak to the cane cutters with the ‘old man’ (Dr. Jagan) and stand and wait on the ferry to go across back to Georgetown…but now you have the Berbice Bridge.”
“Suppose we didn’t have the bridge, the coalition would have taken two weeks to transport the 250 vehicles for their rally here in Berbice,” he said. He also mention that in 1992 when the Former United States President, Jimmy Carter, was in Guyana it would have taken some 3 to 4 hours to come from Timehri to Georgetown, “this is not so anymore; we have the four lane highway and now he will take some 45 minutes to do so.”
Dr Clive Jagan also pointed out that the PPP/C has served this nation well and has responded to the needs of this country. “The party has not strayed from the principles of Dr. Cheddi Jagan where he stood for freedom, peace, prosperity, liberty and democracy,” he stressed.
