A HUGE crowd converged on the Berbice River Stelling tarmac on Sunday evening to witness the conclusion of three days of exciting action which saw Manchester squeeze past Unruly Gang to claim top honours. In the match which lasted until the early hours of Monday morning, the eventual victors prevailed by one on sudden-death penalty kicks.

This was after the two sides were deadlocked at nil at regulation and extra times and could not be separated by penalties.
Credit must be given to Manchester as they held their composure in the face of consistent attacks by the opposition.
However, Unruly Gang’s consolation was, like Manchester, that they have won the right to represent Berbice in the national playoffs set for early June.
They took home $300 000 and the winning trophy, while Unruly Gang went away with $150 000 and a trophy.
Earlier, Manchester needled East Bank Gunners with Carlos Mingo scoring the decider while Unruly Gang beat New Amsterdam Kings 1-0 in a penalty shootout after the teams remained deadlocked at one when full time expired.
Meanwhile, in the third place showdown, Stephen Boucher’s stunner gave NA Kings a 1-0 triumph over East Bank Gunners to take the $100 000 prize while Gunners had to settle for $50 000.
Among those witnessing the final night of action were Guinness Brand Manager Lee Baptiste, Outdoor Events Manager Gavin Jodhan, Communications Manager Troy Peters and representatives of the Banks DIH Berbice Branch.
The highly supported tournament now goes to Linden with tomorrow set to be the commencement.
