AFC's budget criticisms filled with rhetoric

THE Alliance For Change (AFC) has once again showed its hands by exposing its dedication to routine rhetoric.
It is surprising that the AFC actually issued criticisms to the 2010 budget, in the form of a press statement, long before Minister of Finance Dr. Ashni Singh presented the document to the National on Monday February 8.

The AFC ought to know that in order to make constructive criticisms it would have had to digest the contents of the budget instead of trying to hustle to get into the pages of the newspapers the following day. As a small opposition party, the AFC seems to have ‘flirting ambitions’ by being critics trying to grab media opportunities.
Any sensible opposition would prefer to await the completion of the budget before it offers criticisms, despite how predictable they might have been.
The PNCR awaited the completion of the budget presentation before it offered criticisms despite the predictability.
Party Leader Raphael Trotman has not separated his party from the PNCR irrelevant politics which is without value-added intellectualism.
The AFC posture resembles that of their parent opposition PNCR.
