IN excess of nine acres of cultivated cannabis with about 8,000 plants was discovered by the Guyana Police Force (GPF) during a drug-eradication exercise at Araray Village, Upper Essequibo. The plants ranged in heights from one foot to 10 feet, while several nurseries with over 3,000 seedlings and two make-shift tents were found and destroyed during the 12-hour exercise.

According to the police force, three males who were found tending to the cultivation were taken into custody and are expected to be charged with cultivating prohibited plants.
