Several passengers who were onboard a Route 50 minibus were rushed to the Diamond Hospital this evening after the minibus they were travelling in toppled at Soesdyke,East Bank Demerara.
Reports are that the driver of the bus, bearing registration BWW 7196, was heading to Georgetown at a fast rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle around 7:15 pm.The bus slammed into a Toyota Tacoma and moments later, it turned turtle near Grant Sand Road, Soesdyke.
Six occupants of the minibus were rushed to the hospital and their injuries are said to be not life threatening. Police later arrived at the scene as a large crowd gathered around the injured persons.
Since the implementation of COVID-19 emergency measures in Guyana, a number of road accidents have occurred during the 6pm to 6 am curfew.
