A FUGITIVE Donald Shariff, who was nabbed at Mahdia on Friday after eluding the police since March following the alleged slaying of Keron Nicholson, was remanded to prison after appearing at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

During a SKYPE hearing before Magistrate Peter Hugh, Shariff, 29, was not required to plea to the charge of murder, contrary to Common Law.

According to Court documents, Constable 23206 Sampson instituted the charge of murder, which is presumed to have occurred between March 8 and March 17, 2020.
The defendant, who goes by the alias, ‘Ducky’, is expected to return to court on June 25.
He is being charged for the murder of fellow Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam villager, Keron Nicholson, reputedly during a heated argument over the indiscriminate firing of gunshots near the residence of one of his relatives.
