THE support for the Milo schools football tournament continues to grow, with Alabama Trading being the latest contributor.

The company yesterday handed over a quantity of benches for referees and teams at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Proprietor of Alabama Trading, Wooed Phillips said, “Alabama is pleased to be associated with the enhancement of football. Giving back is one of the hallmarks of Alabama Trading and as a former footballer myself, it’s good to know the football standard will be raised in some way or the other with this.”

While the benches were already tested during the ongoing Milo Under-18 schools football tournament, the official handover was .made yesterday.

On the other hand, Petra co-Director Troy Mendonca expressed heartfelt gratitude to Phillips and his establishment, reiterating the positive impact that it will have on the game.

“On behalf of Petra and the entire football fraternity, we want to thank you for such a valuable donation to the Petra organisation. I just want to let you know that a gesture like this adds value and capacity-building to the organisation and allows us present our tournaments in a better manner that aids in the development of the sport,” Mendonca stated.

The tournament continues this weekend with three matches each tomorrow and Sunday.
