Robbery accused remanded

MAGISTRATE Sherdel Isaac-Marcus, on Monday, January 13, 2020, remanded, to prison, two men accused of robbery.

Jose Bristol, 27, a phone technician of Bar Street, Kitty, and Jamal Brathwaite, 24, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and denied the charge, when it was read to them.

Particulars of the charge stated that, on December 29, 2019, at Campbell Avenue, Georgetown, while in the company of another, they robbed Michel Cox of a motorcycle valued at $434,000, an IPhone valued at $255,000, a bag valued at $3000 and $9,500 cash, and, at the time of the robbery, or immediately after, they used personal violence.

Police prosecutor told the court that Cox was at OMG, when three men approached him, ‘stuck him up’ and robbed him. The prosecutor also stated that there was a video on social media showing exactly what happened.

Magistrate Sherdel Isaac-Marcus remanded the men to prison and adjourned the matter until February 3, 2020.
