MAGISTRATE Faith McGusty, on Wednesday December 11, 2019, sentenced a Labourer to three months in prison for wounding a man.
Mark Thompson appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to the charge, when it was read to him.
Particulars of the charge stated that, on November 22, 2019, at Bourda, Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Roger Harmon, a security guard.
“I does pick up bottle by Bourda and he just deh coming and harassing and tormenting me. And he had me in the trench so I bite he,” Thompson said.
According to information, on the day in question, Harmon was attempting to arrest Thompson, when Thompson bit Harmon on his left side eye. The matter was reported and Thompson was arrested and charged.
Magistrate McGusty, after listening to all sides of the matter, sentenced Thompson to three months in prison.
