VICE President of Customer Experience at GTT, Orson Ferguson, explained that the collaboration will allow MMG subscribers the option to donate monies to STEMGuyana through the MMG App for the purpose of paying STEM training courses for students, paying STEM trainers and providing sponsorship for the team to various competitions.

Ferguson said the partnership will also enable STEMGuyana to conveniently pay stipends to trainers across Guyana.

“A simple online interface allows STEMGuyana to send payments to trainers who can immediately pick up payments at any GTT agent or outlet. Today, STEMGuyana uses MMG to pay stipends in Lethem, New Amsterdam, Georgetown, Bagotsville and Linden,” he said.
Ferguson stated “this collaboration allows for anyone to give to StemGuyana for the further development of robotics training in Guyana and facilitates funding for when the team needs to represent Guyana on an International level.”

Persons interested in contributing funds to STEM Guyana can send the monies to Merchant code 06078 through the MMG platform.

For those sending their children to STEM training classes, payment for these classes can be paid through MMG to merchant code 06077.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GTT, Justin Nedd, has deemed the collaboration between MMG and STEM Guyana as timely.

“Guyana is moving to greater heights, especially with the development of technology and innovation. A few days ago, we witnessed the STEMGuyana team bringing home the Albert Einstein Gold Medal of Excellence at the first Global Robotics Competition. This speaks volume to that development,” said Nedd.

“From day one GTT has invested in STEMGuyana and we will continue to do so as we move forward. I want to extend congratulations to the team and the organisers. You have made Guyana proud and I know you will continue to make us proud,” Nedd added.
This year GTT contributed a total of US$5000 to the STEMGuyana team for their recent trip to Dubai. To date the company has invested some US$45,000 to STEMGuyana since 2017.
Cofounder of STEMGuyana, Karen Abrams lauded GTT for its unwavering support to the STEM Guyana Team.

“GTT has always shown the team nothing but support; they have believed in us from the start, not only by thoughts and words, but through financing, text messaging and housing support. It is clear that GTT understands the long term value of our programme and they have been supportive from day one. We are grateful for this continued support,” she said
Abrams further stated how elated she was to collaborate with MMG, “this quick and easy way to receive donations, payments and pay trainers is what StemGuyana needed, it’s progressive and very convenient.”

STEMGuyana participated in the 2019 Global Robotics Tournament in Dubai and earned the coveted Albert Einstein gold medal for all round achievement excellence.

The team of eight, young participants who are budding Guyanese Technology Engineers ended the tournament in the top 25 percent in the world rankings.
