… Trayon Bobb returns to National team

HULL City’s Elliot Bonds, Hapoel Haifa FC forward Emery Welshman and Margate FC’s Kadell Daniel were all named in coach Márcio Máximo’s 23-man squad to face Antigua and Barbuda tomorrow, when the CONCACAF Nations League continues across the region.

Guyana opened their CONCACAF Nations League (League B) campaign with a 1-0 win over Aruba in Curacao, but Golden Jaguars went down 4-0 to Jamaica at the National Track and Field Centre, putting them in a must-win position to stay afloat in the league, to avoid relegation to League C and to keep their CONCACAF Gold Cup hopes alive.

Daniel, despite not featuring as expected at this year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup, was instrumental in the Golden Jaguars qualifying for their first major tournament in the sport.

Welshman, just after the Gold Cup, signed with Israeli professional club Hapoel Haifa FC but like Bonds, missed Guyana’s two matches against Aruba and Jamaica due to injuries.

Bonds was highly praised for his defensive prowess during Guyana’s Gold Cup run and was badly missed against Aruba and Jamaica.

Meanwhile, Trayon Bobb, who many believed should have been included in the Gold Cup squad, will make a return to International football since the qualification stage of the Gold Cup and Nations League earlier this year.

Alex Murray, Akel Clarke and Sese Norville are the goalkeepers in the team, while Matthew Briggs, captain Samuel Cox, Kevin Layne, Sherwin Skeete and Kevin Dundas are the defenders.

Danns will have Delwin Fraser, Clive Nobrega, Ryan Hackett and Daniel Wilson in the midfield, while Welshman and Holder will turn to Keanu Marsh-Brown, Bobb and Pernel Shultz up front.
