Following a meeting with the Private Sector Commission (PSC) on Friday the Alliance for Change (AFC) has reiterated its commitment to private sector development as means of creating jobs and opportunities for Guyanese people.

The party said it also made known its willingness to work collaboratively with the PSC for the achievement of common objectives. The AFC team described the meeting as cordial and encouraging with a broad range of topics discussed.

The primary purpose of the meeting was to seek the PSCs inputs on a range of initiatives which the AFC is committed to further developing and pursuing. According to the party, the meeting also discussed the current political situation in Guyana with the AFC repeating its stated position that it wished to see elections held as early as possible, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining public confidence is the process. The AFC also acknowledged in the meeting that a prolonged delay in the holding of elections would negatively impact business and investment in Guyana. The AFC said both organizations agreed to continue their engagement.
