LATCHMAN Sukhan, a 45-year-old Albouystown, Georgetown resident was on Friday sentenced to four months’ imprisonment for break and enter and larceny.

Sukhan reappeared before Magistrate Annett Singh at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, after spending the last two months on remand.

Sukhan was jointly charged with Compton Fernandes in May 2019 for the offence and they were remanded to prison. Sukhan’s accomplice Fernandes was recently sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to the charge.

When he re-appeared in court on Friday, Sukhan opted to plead guilty to save the court’s time.

The man admitted that between May 20, 2019, and May 21, 2019, at Albouystown, he broke and entered the shop of Shanelle Prince and stole two gas bottles along with a Samsung music set, the total value of the items being $113,000.
