A 39-year-old domestic worker was fatally stabbed on Thursday night, allegedly by her husband, at Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast.

Dead is Farida Khayum of Lot 9, Anna Regina.

The incident occurred around 22:20 hours on Thursday evening.The assailant, identified as Devanand Narine, reportedly stabbed the woman multiple times about her body following an argument.He subsequently consumed a poisonous substance.

He is presently hospitalised under police guard.(Indrawattie Natram)
