Gov’t seeks $3.4B for GECOM

A sum of $3.4B is being proposed by the government for the Guyana Elections Commission for the holding of General and Regional and elections.

On Wednesday, the estimates which will cover the expenses associated with elections, was tabled in the National Assembly.

GECOM has already held training sessions for its Registration Officers (ARO) and enumerators, in preparation for house-to-house registration, a process which is expected to commence soon since the list of electors expired at the end of April this year.
