The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) has arrested four men following a raid at a house in Timehri, East Bank Demerara on Tuesday night.
CANU in a statement, said the raid unearthed suspected cocaine concealed in a fire extinguisher believed to be destined for placement on an aircraft departing for an international destination from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).
According to CANU, the substance weighed 1.890 kilograms. The four men in custody are, Dinesh Dias, Anthony Collins, Seenarine Mathura and Mohamed Inshan.
The men were charged and are expected to make an appearance at the Providence Court tomorrow, Friday.
