THE Magnum Xplosion mega concert is all set for Sunday at the National Park, and is expected to be bigger and better than last year.

With Jamaican artistes Konshens, Ding Dong and Dancehall Queen, Spice headlining the show, patrons can expect to have a grand time after their kite-flying activities during the day.

Brand Manager, Edison Jefford told ‘The Buzz Magazine’ that this year, apart from the big names in the dancehall fraternity, the show will also provide a platform for local acts to showcase their stuff.

Named after ‘Magnum tonic wine’, Jefford said that Magnum Xplosion began as a brand initiative to promote the wine across the Caribbean. It started in Jamaica and rippled across many different Caribbean countries, to finally land on these shores last year.

“The mega concert initiative was geared at promoting Magnum Tonic Wine, using the dancehall platform. Our intention is to promote the wine in Guyana as the leading brand for dancehall,” Jefford said, adding that the success of the event last year has caused its return this year, with an even more attractive line-up of acts and other exciting events leading up to the show.

Last year, at the National Stadium, the mega concert featured some of the biggest names in dancehall and Soca, including Aidonia, Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons and Ding Dong.

This year, several road shows were held in the various towns in Guyana with Magnum ambassadors vixens and girls. Local DJs were also given the opportunity to showcase their entertaining talent at the shows.

The excitement being spread across the country brings much anticipation to patrons, and according to Jefford, the show will not disappoint, and will be a night of celebration and appreciation of dancehall music and the contribution Magnum has made.
