Essequibo boy electrocuted, father critical

A third form student of the Aurora Secondary School, on the Essequibo Coast, died on Thursday morning after he came in contact with two live electrical wires.
Dead is Nicosi Pryce, 14, of Lot 74 , Huis’t Dieiren , Essequibo Coast. His father Winfield Pryce, 44 , a labourer, is currently hospitalized.
The incident occurred  around 08:30hrs today.
According to reports, the boy was assisting his father in erecting an attenna when the  iron pole, which was connected to the antenna, fell onto two electrical power lines as the two were holding same.
Both father and son were struck and fell down and lost consciousness.
Neighbours quickly ran over and rendered assistance to the father and son and immediately rushed them to the Suddie Public Hospital.
The teenager died on the way to the hospital.The boy’s father is currently in  the Intensive Care Unit at Suddie Public Hospital.
The teen’s body is currently at Suddie Hospital Mortuary awaiting an autopsy. His death came as a shock to the teachers and students at the Aurora Secondary School.
